Northwest Alabama VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) is a coalition of community, faith-based, and nonprofit organizations dedicated to coordinating disaster response and recovery across Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale, Marion, and Winston Counties.
Our mission is to strengthen area resilience by fostering collaboration, communication, and cooperation among member agencies before, during, and after disasters. Together, we connect resources, reduce duplication of efforts, and ensure timely assistance for individuals and families affected by crises.
Whether preparing for emergencies, responding in times of need, or supporting long-term recovery, Northwest Alabama VOAD brings partners together to serve our communities with compassion, efficiency, and unity. VOAD becomes activated once one of our local Emergency Management Centers notifies us that there is widespread enough damage that the support of VOAD is needed.
